"Volver - å vende tilbake", med Penelope Cruz i hovedrollen.... hva skal man si: not bad!!

This intense family/woman-drama keeps u pretty much in the slightly twisted position in your seat for the 2 hours the story is told. Serious themes such as incest and murder taken care off in a way that is respectful and careful, yet warm humorius and real; life is most often good and evil not seperated but each a face of being human. Even though some of the incidents in the story are all but normal, the releationships, culture, way of reacting to lifes big blows is portrayed in a convincing way; with fast speaking spanish woman, a red ford granada and spanish traditions laying under as a foundation.

Lord of war

NRK, norwegian state television (sounds a bit communist, doesn´t it! he he), has participated in the production of a documentary about how the norwegian government/industry take part in weapon production, weapons used in several of the hellish conflicts on the earth right now. Even though, as written in Dagbladet, it has been long finnished and ready for viewing, it is not yet even decided IF IT will be aired...! When asked about the matters, norwegian government representatives have been suspiciasly unable or unwilling to say ANYTHING about the matter....

 

Is a small part of my wealth built upon taxes norwegian weapon producers pay to the state, which they in turn have made selling weapons out of the country; weapons that somehow end up in the hands of over-aggressive countries and even maybe in the hands of terrorists and child-soldiers....?

It all seems a bit suspicious, and after wathcing Nicholas Cage in LORD OF WAR , a film describing the life of a man who prospers selling all kinds of weapons to whoever is able to pay; a strong description of a world i don´t know, but may very well be TRUE to reality.... If the weapon industry only worked ethically; why the big hush-hush...?

VERDEN ER STØRRE

Flaggruten durer jevnt mellom holmer og skjær i januar-mørket, jeg er på vei fra Sivilforsvaret på 2 dagers perm – sjøen er rolig. Snurrer igang en film jeg fikk billig på p-kompaniet; TID FOR FULLE HESTER av den kurdiske regisøren Bahman Ghobadi. Blikket mitt blir løftet og jeg får en ufrivillig hjertestart etterhvert som livet til foreldreløse barn som lever i sølen og snøen i fjellene på grensen mellom Iran og Irak. 12 år gamle Ajub må ta ansvar for 4 yngre søsken etter at begge foreldrene er døde; stemningen, de gode (ekte menneskene) som spiller hovedrollene, de vakre bildene beskriver Ajubs kamp for livet… verden er større enn lukseriøse flaggruten og mine sporadiske fritidsproblemer…

det er høst (it´s autumn) og plistre-vann knipser deg i ansiktet forbi bodyshop-paraplyen; joggsene er for lengst gjennomvåte (it´s rainin) men du får gratis-bill til BIFF; den tredje filmen i Per Fly`s triologi, nemlig "drapet", en sterk film om folk i dansk middelklasse som ... sliter. sliter big time. seriøst. alvorlig. Norge klarer aldri å lage så genuint alvorlige filmer som dette. Danskene kan alvorlige sterke filmer...
