Noen som kjenner noen saxofonister? trenger en liste over alle gode saxofonister. Helst som kan spille litt sånn A-HA - "call your name" live fra Maracana, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil og sax alla Bruce´rn og the Stones.... let me know.
album recommendation:
MOLD: "hello foreign country"
if you like accoustic electric rock with mellow voices and interesting chordchanges; lot´s of great sounding choruses and melodies: this one you probably don´t have but it doesn´t mean it´s not good; u just don´t know about it.
check it out. ( I have no clue where u can get it)
seems like the LP player that my busdriver/mission-uncle gave me has taken the night (tatt kvelden, as we say it)
Lately it has come to me how so many of the new bands and artists that are hyped by Dagbladet, NME, or whoever, so many of them seem to be more about the wrapping than the content. Normally I am the kind of guy who would find most people interesting, just because they are uniqe and beautiful; but these bands don´t really seem to express this uniqeness - Like me and my german friend Daniel talked about; which of all the myriads of bands and artists will actuallt be talked about in 10 years?
Sweden has been one of the greatests exporters of quality popular music (just think of ABBA; still rules, and Roxette; admit it; they make u nood ur head), but my impression from the angle of west is that most of their bands now have this exceptional quality; they can imitate one era in detail all the way from the laisses on their shoes, to the tubes in their amps, hairstyles, dance-moves and even life-styles... and it looks more like a carneval.
There is nothing wrong with cool wrapping; just don´t call it content.
THE BEST DRUMMER I HAVE EVER SEEN (and heard)
he is a cross between the beast in muppet show, stallones rambo (in power), the roots-guy (in the beat) - this down-to-earth friendly brit will show all u young maybe-drummers, where the drums are standing; anytime!!! ATTACKING the symbals, beating the crap out of the tams and playing as if his life was about to run out.... i could not stop laughing in awe and sending SMS to all the drummers i know about this guy. "1000 albums to hear before u die" - forget it; as long as u see this guy play the drums u don´t even need to think about drums again. serious.
he plays currently with the twilight singers form US.
"Peter, John & Bjørn" er navnet på noen svenske hipstere som har laget forsommerens feteste låt; "Young folks"; en deilig funky plystrelåt: sjekk den ut her:
Iain Archer seems to be a likeable lad from Belfast who is seeking the fortune in London; signed on the label "We Love You" (?) - this guy makes greatsounding intelligent country influenced pop-tunes; with a voice something inbetween Bright Eyes and Ed Harcourt; a production that sounds sweet and the soulish guitar pop-songs thath don´t ness make it on Puddefjord Radio; check this out at myspace .
i have been the lucky pre-listener of the upcoming costar-album; very intelligent pop straight in your face; jørgen and his beautiful girl bron from australia add their colours to the london world letting
me (and it´s not the first time) camp in their fresh appartment while snorkling london.
COSTAR is a band poking the surface with cathcy indie-tunes; we toured a wee bit with them some time ago with the fishes; check them out at myspace:
